When a yearly exam revealed the possibility of cancer, Kasey quickly, but quietly, prepared herself for this journey.
Given the family history of breast cancer, her doctors were attentive and moved up the necessary scans and testing. She was diagnosed with stage 1 breast cancer in early July of 2025.
Thankfully, this discovery was made early enough for Kasey’s care team to quickly and accurately determine treatment options. Her team was able to schedule necessary scans and surgery weeks earlier than expected.
She will be undergoing a double mastectomy in August of 2025 at Conemaugh hospital.
This procedure requires an overnight stay at the hospital to ensure she has the strength and resources to continue healing at home. The at home recovery is likely to take about 8-10 weeks and will require daily care.
Her family will be helping her find comfort and closure during this part of her healing journey.
Thanks to early detection and proactive measures, Kasey’s recovery outlook is strong and hopeful.
